Biography
Over the past 20 years Proxxy, along with his partner Lantern, have run the breakbeat/ bassmusic in the national capital. Together they formed Essential Bass, a local DC crew who develops and throws electronic music events in the DC / Baltimore Area. Years later they would team up with Zak Davis (Tampa) to position Essential Bass as an east coast phenomenon, bringing exclusive UK artists exposing thousands of people to that style of underground UK bass.
With recent shows including acts such as Krafty Kuts, Deekline, Keith Mackenzie, Lady Waks, The Freestylers, Marten Horger, Stanton Warriors and DJ Icey they have been pushing the break beat sound hard in metro area. Proxxy & Lantern are regulars at shows in Europe having played for many well-known nights across the pond. Proxxy & Lantern, alongside Bradley Drop, topped the Beatport breaks charts with #1 hits in 2017 and 2018 and a couple other top 10 hits in the years since. They’ve played the iconic Ultra Music Festival in Miami for over 17 years and were residents at the legendary Starscape festival in Baltimore. Lantern currently is the behind the scenes man at Transit (Give Productions), one of the longest running weeklies in the Washington, DC metro area - 20 years and counting.
They've been blessed with opportunities such as doing exclusive mixes for UMF Radio and Crystal Method's Community Service on SiriusXm Satellite Radio. They always bring an old-school vibe and keep the dance-floor current using a diverse track selection.
